Eight unwanted glassless window panes are now art lamp structures framing original Chinese calligraphy paintings by Joseph Sefcheck of Oakland. The first lantern has its original and natural wood finish (see below). It will be available in a few days. A second lantern will be created with a darker stain and new original art. These are available with or without the lighting fixture (lantern can be used with most small lamps). Lantern stands 3'9", 11" wide, 11" deep. Art on paper. $175 for lantern. $195 includes the lighting fixture.

I worked really hard to get this piece done today. I used left-over paint, and I let my hands and heart do the work. I had no idea what I created. What was thine own's mind was changed by visions I did not realize I had captured. This was meant to be zen and peaceful, instead it is the image I remember of Vietnam on Fire in 1975. Perhaps this is why I do what I do... It is my art. This was an 8-ft fish acrylic tank, which was semi-useless, so I turned into light box art.

This piece is called Vietnam Under Siege and is for sale for $1,975. (Notice price and date of escape from Vietnam? April 29, 1975.)

*When our ship departed port from Saigon in 1975, I remembered the most beautiful sunset that lasted hours and hours. It was only 3 years ago that I realized it was the bombing at the Saigon border...

Original painting by Kristi Holohan of Oakland. This piece was completed on a piece of salvaged wood, which looks like a piece of plywood that became drift wood... The rounded corners look very naturally worn by water. Very nice use of metallic paint to create the golden skyline. 11" high by 8" wide. $40

stencil art by Jeremiah bal

Oh, what to do with all those cabinets doors that get tossed after a remodel? We decided this one would work well as canvas for stenciling.
This is a beautiful piece of work by Dan Caven, who is an artist featured currently at Fernseed. He uses all reclaimed materials (trash ) (note paint can and large nail). Dan is part of the Crucible and creates his own illuminated gas lamps for his art. I love this piece. Personally, I call it "Lady Justice Out of Balance." This one is called "Love," and it is quite funny. A bit on the R-rated side though, due to the tad of profanity used when describing his opinion on the topic of love (I'm laughing as I am writing this). You must see it to understand why it's so funny. Originally purchased at a San Francisco gallery, the art is now available at Fernseed. $375

Left: Framed art created with vintage cards and reclaimed wooden frames. Hand-made by artist David Nyquist to express his view of an oiled war world. $45 each or $120 for the set.
