This may be antique, actually. The workmanship of the pressed glass and scalloped edges dates back a little further than the 60's... This is salvaged, can you believe? It was a glass shade that faced upward once upon a time as a part of a standing lamp. Too heavy to mount of more recently-made lighting stands, so what the heck. I made it into a hanging lamp.

Due to the unusual size of the top opening, I had to Frankenstein different pieces of miscellaneous lamp parts, all salvaged and UL-approved. Glass shade measures 10" in diameter and 5" high. Hanging light is white, chrome and gray. Hanging light with shade is $65.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.fernseed.com/decor/silver-on-silver-table-lamp.html"><rss:title>silver on silver table lamp</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.fernseed.com/decor/silver-on-silver-table-lamp.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

A once-gray lamp was restyled with silver-leaf'ish paint, then redesigned using a chrome-plated shade (that used to be a hanging lamp). Finished today by Fernseed. $55

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.fernseed.com/decor/standing-zen-succulent-water-garden.html"><rss:title>standing zen succulent water garden</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.fernseed.com/decor/standing-zen-succulent-water-garden.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

A reclaimed stainless steel speaker stand holds a salvaged hand-carved wooden bowl that had a center hole (I have no idea why the previous owner did this, but it motivated me to create this redesign, so yay! Also, the hole works for water drainage to protect the wood from damage if water overflows by oopsey acts.).

Inside the bowl is a stamped silver-plated bowl containing reclaimed collector's rocks (includes gemstones, river stones, sea/river glass), succulent branches with leaves that look like flowers, a small piece of old drift wood, and water. The wooden bowl was permanently mounted; however, the silver bowl can be removed for care and cleaning.

The stand can be adjusted easily to a two different levels. Above image shows the stand at the lower level, which is 22". The below image shows the garden at a higher level, which is 37".

This particular succulent variety is easy to care for because it can live in or out of water for an impressive amount of time. In other words, it is drought tolerant (but if cut, will be happy as can be to root).

The diameter of the solid wooden bowl is 13" wide.

My favorite view of the garden. There are only two clippings in this creation, intentionally designed so rearranging will be easy. One is the large lotus-like clipping, and the other single clipping contains 5-6 younger branches. These succulents were locally harvested. Except for the plants, this Standing Water Garden was made using 100% reclaimed parts, including the hardware. $150

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.fernseed.com/decor/red-over-ebony-frame.html"><rss:title>red over ebony frame</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.fernseed.com/decor/red-over-ebony-frame.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

To create this lamp shade, I first stenciled the lamp shade with spray paint, using reclaimed shelf liner for stenciling. Then I re-used a paper towel to paint reclaimed latex paint over the first layer, leaving a heart-shape opening. The lamp shade was also reclaimed. By Kristine Dang. Only available with hanging light fixture. $55

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.fernseed.com/decor/burning-desires.html"><rss:title>burning desires</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.fernseed.com/decor/burning-desires.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Once upon a time these candle holders were black, silver, gold, brass, gray, blue, and frosted. A few were very special; they sported that delightful black-silver-brass combo look. We had this desire to add fire to their unwanted existence, so we colored them orange-red, in hopes they continue a future full of shine, with or without the candles.

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
