old leather box ottoman or stool

Or side table... Is it antique or vintage? Dunno, but I do know it's an oldie and well-built. Solid wooden legs. The white'ish leather seat is also a lift-top box. Inside the box you will find original stain and metal joint braces. The leather is aged and 'distressed'. Could use a good cleaning.  Incomplete checker pieces included inside the box. (Perhaps this was a chess game board at one time?). The wood looks beat-up, but it is all surface. A quick stain or wax stick should fix this baby up in minutes.

We like to giving customers chances at 'as is' lower pricing. If items do not sell, we then refurbish or refab, so the price naturally goes up.

I know what it is. I have one. It's the bench that came with some Singer sewing machines in the 40's. (I think mine was made in 1946.) Mine is exactly like that, including the stripe of darker stain at the bottom.

How great that you know. I wonder how the checker pieces got inside the storage container? I think I am gonna stain it and stencil the leather soon... Give it a little OOOOHHH-la-la.
